A training session on “First Aid and Treatment” was organized by the Indian Red Cross Committee, Haryana State Branch, Chandigarh at Government Girls College, Palwal, Kurukshetra. The program was started by the Principal of the college, Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, while addressing the students. In her address, the Principal said that they should understand the importance of First Aid so that accidents can be avoided in case of emergency. Shri Ramesh Choudhary, State Training Officer, while addressing the girl students and staff, explained the importance of first aid. He explained in detail how to take the patient to the hospital in case of an accident. During his training, Ramesh ji gave a demo of how to give CPR in an emergency situation and explained about the benefits of giving CPR. The training team also made the students aware about the methods and benefits of giving CPR through a film. Red Cross Society team members Anju Kashyap District Training Officer, Kiran Kashyap Training Lecturer, Joginder and Suraj contributed in making the training successful. 110 first year girl students of B.Com, BA, BCA and B.Sc participated in this training program. Dr. Seema Pandey coordinated the stage in the program. Professor Chanchal, Dr. Meenakshi, Dr. Iqbal Kaur and Dr. Jitendra Kumar made important contributions during this training program.
