Training Session on the Occasion of World First Aid Day organized by Youth Red Cross Cell on the topic "First Aid: As life Skills"

On the occasion of World First Aid Day, at Government Girls College, Palwal, Kurukshetra, under the leadership of Dr. Seema Pandey, in-charge of Youth Red Cross Cell and under the guidance of Principal of the college, Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, a training session was organized on the topic 'First Aid: As Life Saving Skills'. Shri Naresh Pal, Lecturer, Red Cross Society, Kurukshetra, was the chief trainer in this program. Explaining the importance of first aid, Mr. Naresh Pal shared the important points related to first aid to the girl students and explained the importance of CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) in case of heart attack. The detailed way of providing CPR was explained. He said that the method of providing CPR is different in infants, children and adults. He also explained in detail how first aid should be given in case of silent heart attack and pain in heart attack. He also conducted practical sessions with students of providing CPR. Principal Dr. Gagandeep Kaur congratulated in-charge of Youth Red Cross Cell, Dr Seema Pandey and other organising members on the successful organization of the program and encouraged them to organize such programs in future. Prof. Chanchal, Dr. Meenakshi and Youth Red Cross Cell member Prof. Komal and Preeti Sharma had the main contribution. 85 girl students of the college participated in this program.
