National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) is a scheme of Government of India to provide financial support to establishments undertaking the apprenticeship training. NAPS was launched on 19th August 2016.
Apprenticeship training is a course of training in an industry or establishment, under a contract of apprenticeship which consists of :-
a) basic training component and
b) on-the-job-training (OJT)/practical training at workplace.
Currently following candidates are doing Apprenticeship in our college (Session 2023-24)
Earn Ehile You Learn
The Department of Higher Education, Government Haryana introduced the programme namely “Earn While You Learn” for Govt. and Aided Private Colleges in 2001. For making the students economically independent, Govt. college for Girls, Palwal (Kurukshetra) motivates the students to adopt this programme titled “Earn While You Learn”. Under this programme, the students of various streams not only financially support their studies but also gain practical experience by working on different college jobs in library, admin office, labs, etc. which would stand by them in their later career.
Objective
The initiative is having a three-pronged impact
- Financial assistance
- Hands-on-training while studying.
- Work experience
In addition, the scheme also gives an opportunity to develop the spirit of work culture and confidence amongst the students.
Criteria for Engaging Students
- The students are engaged through interview by the duly constituted committee of four to five faculty members in related works.
- Meritorious students are given priority over others and thereafter it is ensured that the priority is given to the needy students.
- For all these jobs, students are paid at the rate of Rs. 100 per hour subject to a maximum of six hours per week per student so that a student is able to earn Rs. 600 per week and Rs. 2400 per month.
Currently total 20 candidates are engaged in Earn While You Learn Scheme of our college (Session 2023-24)
